SolidWorks 2014 Beta Arriving Soon!!

Each new release of SolidWorks is preceded by a beta program. The idea is to allow users to try the new functionality, and lets SolidWorks gather the feedback before the release is finalized.  DS SolidWorks is gearing up for releasing SolidWorks 2014 Beta (expected to be released this month i.e. June, 2013).

But “Why one should Participate”??

This is your opportunity to impact the quality, performance, and reliability of DS SolidWorks products. SolidWorks beta team appreciate the valuable time you invest in testing SolidWorks software. And as a way of thanking you for your efforts, there are several exciting contests where you can win valuable prizes.

DS SolidWorks‘s Team’s objective is to provide you with early access to the next version of SolidWorks so you tell them about issues specific to your environment, data and workflows that would impact your migration experience.

How to Participate

SolidWorks 2014 Beta programs will be listed on this page as they become available. Register for Beta by creating a Customer Portal account or update your existing account settings to join Beta. Select “Notify me of Beta Programs” in your Customer Portal profile.

Your SolidWorks Subscription Service status must be valid and active in order to participate in Beta Programs.

What is included?

  1. Access to Beta Downloads
  2. Beta Forum access where you can contribute to public discussions with other participants and SolidWorks staff
  3. Problem reporting

SolidWorks 2013 Beta 3 final shot..

SolidWorks 2013 Beta 3 is available for download and B3 contest has begun. 

Everyone starts with a clean slate in Beta 3.  So if you were at the bottom of the class in B1, you have a new chance to be on top in this release.

And don’t forget that your points from each Beta release count toward the overall contest totals.  So even if you don’t win an individual release, you could still compete in the overall contest.

Attention XP users! SolidWorks 2013 will NOT INSTALL on computers using Windows XP.

Participating and Downloading Beta:

The programs indicated are only open to customers with an active Subscription Service contract. Register for Beta by creating a Customer Portal account or update your existing account settings to join Beta. Select “Notify me of Beta Programs” in your Customer Portal profile.

Your SolidWorks Subscription Service status must be valid and active in order to participate in Beta Programs.

SolidWorks 2013 Beta 2 is available for download and B2 contest has begun. Wow I love contests and there are prizes as well.

SolidWorks 2012 Beta ending soon!!

Yes you read it correct. With SolidWorks 2012 Beta testing is in full swing and version Beta 2.0 available for download, the testing will be over soon. The official release dates for the SolidWorks 2012 has not been released yet but it is expected to come up in first week of September which means only few days left to participate and win prizes.

DraftSight™ jumps to Beta II for MAC®

Dassault Systèmes releases the free* beta II version of DraftSight™ for the MAC® users. DraftSight™, a free* 2D CAD product that lets you create, edit and view your drawing files in MAC®.

Beta I already available for MAC® (expiring on November 30, 2011) has been replaced by Beta II which extends the expiration into 2012.  Though the download link of DraftSight™ MAC® displays Beta I but Beta II will get downloaded. The software is also available for Microsoft® Windows XP®, Windows Vista®, Windows® 7, and Linux®(beta).

Open your DWG files in Linux® with DraftSight™ Beta

Dassault Systèmes offers the free* beta version of DraftSight™ for the Linux® users.

Earlier available for Microsoft® Windows XP®, Windows Vista®, Windows® 7, Mac® OS X (10.5.8 or above), now you can open/edit drawing (DWG) files on your Linux®.

DraftSight™, a free* 2D CAD product that lets you create, edit and view your DWG files is available in  both .deb and .rpm packages for Linux®.
