Diagonal cut on a Cuboid-1

Looking to cut a diagonal on a Cuboid, here are two quick ways to do that

Use Vertex Chamfer:
1. Open the existing file or create a new file and model the cuboid.

2. Start chamfer command.

3. Select vertex on the chamfer property manager.

4. Check/Select equal distance if you need equal distance of all the three edges.

5. Uncheck equal distance if you need a different dimension.

6. Select the vertex on the part. And based on your selection (step 4 or 5) you’ll see the chamfer

7. Click OK and here you go.

You can select one vertex at time. So in case you need to add more vertex chamfer, you’ll have to repeat the above process.

Use Surface Cut (with plane):
1. Open the existing file or create a new file and model the cuboid.
2. Start a new plane.

3. Select Through Lines/Points option.

4. Select the three points/vertices to create the plane.\

5. Click OK to exit the plane property manger and get the new plane.
6. Now go to Insert > Cut > With Surface.

7. Select the new plane (created above) as surface/tool for cut.

8. Set the direction for cut. You can click on arrow or flip to change/set the cut direction.

9. Click OK and here you go.

You can also use loft to cut a diagonal on a Cuboid… 🙂
