Logopress Corp. released “Progressive Blank Companion”

Logopress Corp., Besancon, France, along with their North American Distributor and Technical Center, Accurate Die Design, Inc., New Berlin, Wisconsin, have just released a powerful new add-on to their SolidWorks-based Logopress3 software called Progressive Blank Companion.

This new innovation allows metal stamping die designers to model the 3D complex-shaped intermediate stages of a progressively formed part in minutes instead of hours or days. The software works equally well whether the user is designing progressive dies, transfer dies, line dies, or only using it to create the tooling for making prototypes. Progressive Blank Companion is the result of several years of research and development.

Die designers will be amazed to see how quickly they can partially “unform” specific areas of a complex shaped model with Progressive Blank Companion, leaving the rest of the complex shape intact“, says Ray Proeber, President of Accurate Die Design, Inc. “This part of the die design process has always been a real challenge for die designers in the past, especially with dirty models. A very interesting video of how quick and easy it is, can be found on the Accurate Die Design, Inc. website.”

The software includes tools for constraining specific edges, faces, or pilot holes, and also allows the designer to lock the material in a specific direction. It includes a materials database with common material types included and the user can also add other materials to the database. Besides simplifying and speeding up the modeling of intermediate stages, Progressive Blank Companion also provides localized information about thinning and thickening as well as measuring stress and strain.

Logopress Corp. will showcase their new Progressive Blank Companion software at SolidWorks World 2012  on February 12-15, 2012 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. SolidWorks World Conference and Exhibition 2012 is the premier global event for 3D design, simulation and product development.

Please note:  All individuals will be required to show proof of identification prior to collecting their badge and registration materials. Attendees must be 21 years or older to attend SolidWorks World 2012. Also residents of some countries may require a visa to enter the United States.

Don’t forget, if you pay for two registrations, a third participant can hang in for free. And, as always, CSWPs save $100. You can see all of registration deals at the SolidWorks World website.
